WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
We came to the area to see our grandchildren. We stayed in Calder Cottage which is a comfortable cosy cottage enjoying all the amenities that you want in a holiday cottage. It is in a beautiful setting with lots of countryside to explore and places to see. The owners are very friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. The weather could have been kinder but we still got out and about. We have stayed in many holiday cottages with our dogs and this cottage is up there with the best. We plan to visit again.

Another wonderful stay in Oakdean Cottages. This must be our 10th stay in these beautiful cottages. Ian, Sue and Anna are such hospitable hosts and are on site in case of any concerns. Ribble cottage is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Peaceful and quiet yet close to the most amazing pubs and restaurants and the Everyman Cinema in Clitheroe. A trip to the Lord Nelson pub at the end of the road is absolute must. Will look forward to our next trip. Can thoroughly recommend.

We stayed at Hodder Cottage for a few days in September with our 82 year old mother who has limited mobility. The cottage has no steps and you walk straight outside, onto the patio and into the gardens. Sue and Ian were extremely helpful and supplied a shower seat for our stay. The cottage is simply but beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. Ian and Sue are only a phone call or txt away should you need any help or information. We really enjoyed our stay.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
My wife and I have just returned from our wonderful relaxing and comfortable stay at Calder cottage.
Great location for food lovers as there's an abundance of great restaurants with in 5 to 15 minutes drive from the cottage which is also well serviced by local takeaways. Where the cottage sits means there is no light pollution so great for star gazing and watching the rising sun light up the valley below if you're an early riser.
But for me personally and maybe not for my wife is that you are no more than 12 minutes away from more than a dozen really good golf courses. Whalley, Great Harwood (9 hole), Wilpshire, Clitheroe, (18 hole) Mytton Fold (not for the faint hearted) to name a few. We will definitely be return customers. Thanks to Anna, Ian and Sue for a wonderful stay.

My husband, son and I stayed in the Ribble Cottage for 4 nights mid August and we were blown away with it. The owners were so lovely and left bath toys for our son and a box of toys for him to play with. The accommodation is so well appointed, the facilities are great and the space was just perfect. Beds comfy, shower/bath water pressure was great and all the extra bits the home comes with, makes your stay easy and comfortable. It is also secure and feels so safe, plus the location and views are just beautiful. We will definitely be back to stay. Thank you 🤩

We stayed in Hodder Cottage for three nights in August as we were attending a family wedding locally.
The cottage is in a beautiful secluded spot, peaceful and tranquil. The cottage was spacious and immaculately clean. The kitchen was probably the best equipped I have ever stayed in and and we have stayed in quite a few! Would not hesitate to return. If you are thinking about booking, I would say DO IT! you will not be disappointed.

This is our second stay at Calder Cottage. We were fortunate to get a late booking. My family is from Burnley and this is a perfect location for us to catch up with friends and family. I can only echo others’ comments. Exceptional cleanliness and comfort and welcome. The Ribble Valley is so beautiful and Oakdean is a calm and peaceful oasis. Big plus - it’s all on one floor. No lugging cases upstairs.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
This was our 5th stay at Oakdean Cottages, Hodder cottage was in immaculate condition as always and I have to say Oakdean Cottages are the best cottages we have stayed in by far. The views and surroundings are stunning! The beds are the comfiest beds we have stayed in and this time round I so wish we could have stayed longer! The cottage is always cleaned to an extremely high standard and has everything you need and more. The children loved seeing the Alpcas and chickens this time round too. Anna, Ian and Sue are always very welcoming and nothing is ever to much. Lovely touches such as fresh flowers on arrival in the little vase and lovely touches such as books on the local area which are always lovely to read, even with me being from Lancashire I learnt a little more this time round . Looking forward to our next stay in December already!! 😍

What a lovely stay in Hodder Cottage. The cottage is absolutely immaculate, with everything you could ever need. The grounds are so quiet and the owners lovely and welcoming. My children loved seeing the alpacas, chickens and ponies next to the cottage. There are also lovely local towns and villages to explore. I can’t recommend Oakdean Cottages enough to anyone wanting to stay in the Ribble Valley. My little boy was upset to be leaving, but hopefully we will be back for another stay soon.

This place is just perfect. We spent 5 nights with 2 other families in the adjoining cottages and enjoyed the privacy and space and stunning views across the valley. Ian Sue and Anna made sure that our stay was extremely comfortable and stress free. We were even able to have a family BBQ on one of the days with other members of our families joining us. There is so much to do here that we didn’t have time to fit it all in so we will definitely be back. Thanks again

We have just spent 4 nights in Ribble Cottage, enjoyed every minute and didn’t want to leave!
The cottage was immaculate and well equipped with everything you could need for a wonderful relaxing stay.
Thoughtful extras of flowers, milk, juice, tea, coffee and biscuits were much appreciated.
Ian, Sue and Anna are wonderful hosts that made us feel like we were old friends - so welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The grounds are secluded, very safe and kept to a high standard just like the cottages.
Ribble Valley is a beautiful part of Lancashire.
We cannot wait to return.
Thank you so very much - we loved it.

Staying at Oakdean cottages was the perfect addition to our wedding at the beginning of December 2023. We were made to feel so welcome, it was like staying with friends. There were even toys in the cottage for our boys to play with, and a couple of gifts too! The whole experience felt like pure luxury, from the coffee machine to the under floor heating! Will be returning as often as we can

We really enjoyed our stay in Hodder Cottage at the end of August with Mum.
We have stayed here a few times now, the accommodation and location is perfect.
The cottage is always immaculately clean and the open plan layout works really well. The patio area and gardens are lovely to sit out and relax in which Mum really enjoys.
Thank you to Ian, Sue and Anna for the warm welcome and looking after us during our stay.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
I grew up in the Ribble Valley (Mitton), so finding Oakdean Cottages was like a dream come true. Although my husband and I now live in Canada we try to visit family every few years. We stayed in Ribble cottage twice this summer (5 days in July) as a couple, and (6 days in August) with my 84 year old mother. The cottage is quiet and secluded, with ample parking and the countryside is stunning (even if I am a little biased). Whalley is a beautiful town with Tudor houses on the Main Street. In addition, the Abbey is worth a visit too. Clitheroe is a nice town and worth a visit. Take a walk up to the castle.
The cottage interior and exterior have been well-thought out, and the gardens are beautifully kept. The owners keep the cottages in pristine condition. When you arrive you will find milk, orange juice, tea, coffee, biscuits and sweets. The beds are comfortable and high quality linen is provided. The cottage includes a fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, ironing board etc. All you will need for a comfortable stay. The owners are extremely pleasant and co-operative, nothing is too much trouble. We won’t hesitate to book at Oakdean Cottages for our next visit in Lancashire. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
I stayed in Calder Cottage for a week at the beginning of August 2023 using it a base for a short walking holiday. Based on my experience I would highly recommend it. Initial contact and the booking process was simple, smooth and efficient. As for the cottage is built and equipped to a very high standard with a spacious kitchen with all you would need for self catering, milk, orange juice, biscuits and sweeties also provided.
The cozy living room is a perfect place to relax (and since I was ‘rained out’ one day I used it a lot). The living room leads, via French windows to a small, private patio area (with gas BBQ) which is a pleasant place to sit with a cup of tea (or something stronger!).There is a spacious main bedroom with a comfy bed and plenty of storage for clothes etc., another smaller room with twin beds and, finally, a good bathroom with a power shower over the bath.
The location is very handy for local walks and attractions and is so quiet and peaceful - Whalley is a nice small town with plenty to see and do and Clitheroe is well worth a visit too. I walked between some of the picturesque villages along the River Ribble Way and found the local public transport handy and frequent enough.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
We are a family of 4 adults and 2 teens that were fortunate to spend five nights at Hodder Cottage this past July. Although the weather wasn't too kind during our stay, we were very happy with the space, amenities and cleanliness of our rental. It's first class in every way. Lots of thought has gone into the design of the interior and the outside space is peaceful and secluded. We've rented a number of properties over the course of our travels in the UK, US and Canada and have to say that our Oakdean Cottage is probably number 1. We loved the short walk down the hill to the pub (The Lord Nelson) with its friendly atmosphere and superb food, not forgetting the cute house dogs! The scenery around the Ribble Valley is classic British countryside. Having the comfort of Hodder Cottage after a busy day out was like home from home. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, the beds were comfortable and all the linens were spotless and of excellent quality. There was nothing to fault at all. We would highly recommend anyone to book with confidence.

If you’re looking for a hassle-free, beautiful place to stay with young children, Oakdean cottages is the place to be. Everything we needed for our 1-year-old son and four-year-old daughter was set up and spotlessly clean when we arrived - travel cot, high chair, bath seat and even toys and colouring books. Sue, Ian and Anna anticipated our every need - so lovely to arrive to after a long journey. Thank you! We can’t wait to come back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our 5th stay in the perfectly designed and decorated Calder Cottage. Never failed to have a relaxing and uninterrupted break. Truly a home from home. In its own grounds with security gates, perfect peace of mind for young families. Enclosed by trees and with strategically placed hedges provides necessary privacy. Perfect in every way. The properties are immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. The kitchen equipment is first class with a slow cooker and even a blender in Hodder cottage. The grounds are beautiful and there is a real feeling of tranquility. It's lovely to be able to walk from the property rather than have to drive anywhere for a walk and the nearby alpacas are a real draw for us. The owners are so friendly and helpful but in no way obtrusive. Our third visit and we are planning our next. Thanks to everyone at Oakdean for providing a haven for us.

We booked the cottage for a course we were doing in Whalley. Ideal location, you are near Whalley but far enough away to feel that you are in the countryside having a holiday too. The ducks and hens next door were a bonus. Listening to them is very calming.
Hodder cottage is very comfortable with every convenience, so it feels like a home away from home.
We will be back in Whalley a few more times this year, so I hope that the cottage is available for our next visit.
Many Thanks

We spent a wonderful weekend at the cottage in the Ribble Valley. The location is fantastic, we had magical wintery views across the valley and the surrounding woods and lanes are beautiful. The cottage itself it spotless, so clean everything is like new and stocked with everything you can think of that you would need. The underfloor heating was a treat, you wouldn't have known how cold it was outside. The hosts dropped off a box of toys and books for our 5 year old which was brilliant and kept her entertained and we followed their recommendations for a great walk, the Pendle Sculpture Walk as well as several pub suggestions all of which were fab. Turns out the area is not short of a great country pub! We will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a great stay!

We approached Anna, Ian & Sue back in Sept as we sold our house and new build would not be ready until week before Christmas. They kindly agreed a 3 month let of the Calder Cottage. It was a real home from home, facilities were just excellent, it was like living at home and the stress of being homeless was hugely reduced. We have already introduced friends and family to their lovely facilities and our friend from Germany has already stayed and loved it. Facilities and location to the stunning Ribble Valley are perfect. We feel we have made good friends and they were so welcoming. Thanks Anna, Ian & Sue x

We stayed for 3 nights in Ribble Cottage in December. Outside temperatures were close to freezing but the cottage was wonderfully cosy and warm. The cottage is furnished to a very high and tasteful standard, spotlessly clean, and is equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable self catering holiday with secure off road parking.
Very well thought out accommodation. The patio, garden and grounds are well kept with beautiful views from windows across the valley. We enjoyed local walks from the cottage and exploring the villages and towns nearby. We would love to stay again - the best endorsement we could give.

We have stayed in Hodder Cottage twice this year, on both occasions with our daughter and family. We were all very impressed with it - there's plenty of space, it's well equipped and it's comfortable. We appreciated the extra welcoming touches (milk and juice in the fridge, flowers in the living room). It's in an attractive area, with lovely views of Pendle Hill and surrounding countryside as you approach the Cottage. It's a short drive from Clitheroe , which we particularly like (it has some nice independent shops which are a rare find these days). Ian, Sue and Anna are extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Thank you for the very warm welcome. The hosts have gone the extra mile in ensuring that their guests have the best stay possible. A vase of beautiful roses on the table, coffee, tea, milk and delicious biscuits on arrival- even dressing gowns!
The cottage was superbly equipped with very high quality fixtures and fittings, fabulously clean with comfy beds with gorgeously soft bedding.
Oakdean cottages are situated in the most picturesque corner of the Ribble Valley with scenic walks on the doorstep and fabulous places to visit all around.
We have to come back- we didn’t have time to sample the BBQ in the Summer House, or relax outside in the sunshine.
It’s a perfect place to stay!

Fantastic. My children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nephew and partners took over all cottages, for my wedding, plus I and bridesmaids got ready there. Wow couldn’t have been more perfect from detail to attention through to accommodating in every way.
Nothing was too much for Ian and Sue. Truly perfect, yet discreet hosts.
This made for a perfect weekend and I suspect the cottages will be a popular place, if we can’t accommodate at ours, in fact pretty sure they’ll all have a preference for the cottages!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Ian and Sue.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
My wife, adult son and I had 5 very enjoyable days in the Hodder Cottage. What a joy it was to stay here.
Ian & Sue, and Anna the Property Manager, were a delight to deal with; they made everything - enquiries, booking, arrival and departure - incredibly easy and ‘seamless’. Northern hospitality at its best!
The cottage was wonderful; positioned in idyllic surrounds, it would have been easy to sit and relax in the perfectly manicured outdoor setting for the entire time, and conclude the day with a BBQ
But we had things to do!
We couldn’t have asked for more - the Cottage was generously & tastefully furnished and we appreciated the nod to high-tech (the management of property features, TV accessories and slick property entry and exit). The kitchen had everything we needed for a self sufficient stay and appreciated the high quality appliances and generous stock of utensils.
Couldn’t rate our stay more highly and would unreservedly recommend to any family, friend or colleague planning to stay in the region.
